My Top 10 Favorite Book Series of ALL TIME

(in no particular order)

1. The Shatter Me Series by Tahereh Mafi

Juliette is in prison. Why? Oh, just this small thing…her touch is fatal. Not kidding. You touch her you die. This dystopian series is everything. Why? Character development. And Warner. Read it and you’ll understand why that is explanation enough.

2. The Mortal Instruments by Cassandra Clare

Demons exist. Badass people called Nephilim (half-angel, half-human) hunt them. Enough said. Do not judge this book by the movie that was made back in 2013. That movie was NOTHING and these books are EVERYTHING.

3. The Twilight Saga by Stephenie Meyer

I had to include Twilight on this list. Say what you will about it and the movies, but these books saved my reading life. They are the ones that got me reading again! They reminded me how fun and amazing losing yourself in a book can be and I love them for it. Just let me love them, okay? Thank you.

4. The Infernal Devices by Cassandra Clare

The prequels to The Mortal Instruments. These lovelies take place in nineteenth-century England and they are to die for. I love them even more than I love The Mortal Instruments. And Will…Will Herondale is everything.

5. Throne of Glass Series by Sarah J. Maas

This series is not finished yet. We still have one more book to go. September 2017 ahhhh I can’t wait. Okay, sorry I just had to fangirl for a second. This series is about a kickass female assassin. It is a very loose retelling of Cinderella, with the thought of “What if Cinderella didn’t go to the ball to marry the prince, but to kill him?” Read it. It’s so good. And if you read the first book and you’re like…I mean this is good, but it’s not amazing…KEEP GOING. Because then book three happens and you’ll understand, you’ll think okay wow great series…but then here comes book four and you’ll fall even deeper in love…and then book five…oh book five. Basically, your life will never be the same.

6. Harry Potter by J.K. Rowling

If you don’t know what this series is about/why it is on this list then I honestly don’t trust you. Disclaimer: I have not finished this series. I know. WHY. What is wrong with me? I’m not entirely sure. I don’t know why I am just now reading this series, but all that matters is I am. Finally. And I love it, obviously.

7. The Mediator Series by Meg Cabot

This series though. If you like Meg Cabot and you haven’t read this series, what are you doing with your life? Seriously. I read these books back in middle school, but I still absolutely adore them. They follow high school student Suze: a mediator. Basically, she can see dead people. Sounds cool, right? It is. Pick it up, you won’t regret it.

8. The Crossfire Series by Sylvia Day

This is romance. Steamy romance. Now stop your judging. Stop it. I love romance and I have no problem admitting it. This series is so, SO good if you are open to the general ideas that form romance novels. The question that essentially shapes this series is “Can two survivors of sexual abuse ever have a healthy relationship?” Want the answer? Are you intrigued? READ IT.

9. The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins

You know what this is about. You know why it’s on this list.

10. A Court of Thorns and Roses Trilogy by Sarah J. Maas

This series is my child. I love it so much. And it’s not even finished yet! These lovely gems are a loose retelling of a bunch of different fairytales: “Beauty and the Beast”, “Tam Lin”, “East of the Sun West of the Moon”…you get the picture. Kind of like with Throne of Glass, if after the first book you aren’t convinced of it’s wonderfulness (although I was) read A Court of Mist and Fury. Read A Court of Mist and Fury. READ IT. I guarantee you will latch onto this series like nobody’s business.
